Mobility & Prep
Run prep and post-run cooldown
Prime your muscles before you run with guided mobility drills, and recover faster with post-run cooldown routines.
Pre-run mobility player
Before every run, tap Start Run Prep from the Today screen or workout detail. Runapt opens a dedicated mobility player tailored to the session you are about to run.
- Animated movement figures: clean, high-contrast visual guides showing proper running drill form and gait mechanics.
- Targeted drill selection: dynamic calf and hamstring activation, hip mobility, leg swings, and ankle stiffness drills.
- Audio cues: audible countdowns and interval chimes guide each movement so you can focus on form without holding your phone.
Warm-up, then the run
Tap Start Run Prep. When the last drill ends, Ready to Run starts the GPS countdown. Stop, then the cool-down, then the recap.
- 1From Today, tap Start Run Prep to begin your 4–6 minute dynamic warmup.
- 2As the final drill wraps up, tap Ready to Run to transition immediately into the GPS tracking countdown.
- 3Complete your planned workout with live pace and segment guidance.
- 4Upon hitting Stop, Runapt offers your Post-Run Cooldown before opening your full recap.
Post-run cooldown and recovery
Finishing a hard interval or long run abruptly can lead to heavy legs and stiffness. The post-run cooldown guides static stretching and diaphragmatic breathing to kickstart muscle recovery.
- Session-specific recovery: cooldown routines adapt whether you just finished an easy recovery jog, a high-cadence tempo, or a marathon long run.
- Completion tracking: completing pre-run prep and post-run cooldowns logs mobility signals that feed into your weekly consistency and injury prevention scores.
