Routes

Planning routes

Build routes in the editor, generate distance-matched loops, and attach a route to a planned run.

Use the route editor

  1. 1Open the Routes tab and tap Create route.
  2. 2Tap the map to drop waypoints; Runapt routes the running path between them automatically.
  3. 3Watch the distance update as you add points, and undo any point you don’t want.
  4. 4Save the route with a name and tags so you can reuse it.
Note · Coverage

The training engine works everywhere, but the automatic route solver is rolling out region by region (starting in the Netherlands) to keep route quality high.

Saved routes

  • Your route library shows map thumbnails with distance for each saved route.
  • Open a route to preview it before heading out.
  • Pick a saved route when starting a run to follow it with on-screen guidance.
How loops are generated

The solver builds continuous loops that start and finish at your location (no dull out-and-backs), favors quiet parks for easy runs and flat, uninterrupted stretches for tempo work, and trims the route so you finish right at the target distance.

Frequently asked

Why can’t I auto-generate a route here?
Automatic route generation is available in select regions for now. You can still build routes manually anywhere with the editor.
