Runapt

Comparison

Runapt vs Runmapper

If you only need a map to draw a route, Runmapper is in that category. I built Runapt because the map was never the whole problem — the week after Tuesday died was.

The verdict

Pick Runmapper when the job is mapping routes. Pick Runapt when you also need today’s workout, the pace, the loop, and a week that shortens when training load says so.

Different jobs

Runmapper sits in the route/map lane. Runapt starts from the plan: what to run, at which VDOT pace, on which loop, then what changes tomorrow.

Where the map still matters

A bad route kills a tempo session. Runapt still generates the loop from GPS. The difference is the map is attached to a prescribed workout, not the whole product.

Fair split

If you already have a coach or a PDF and only need better routes, a map-first tool can be enough. If the plan is the gap, adding another mapper will not close it.

FAQ

Is Runapt a Runmapper alternative?

Partly. Both touch routes, but Runapt is built around an adaptive training plan with paces and coaching. Runmapper is primarily a route/map product.

Can Runapt replace a dedicated run mapper?

For generating a workout loop from your location, yes. If you want deep manual route editing as the main workflow, a map-first tool may still fit better.

Does Runapt only work as a route planner?

No. Routes are one piece. The core is the plan that moves with fitness, readiness, and missed runs.

Which should I use for race training?

If you need structure toward a 5K–marathon goal, Runapt. If your only gap is drawing routes, a mapper-focused product is the narrower tool.
